Ok...I'm a huge Star Wars fan...enough so to think my next piece of ink will be Star Wars related. But i really haven't been keeping up with the Clone Wars series on tv. After talking online with some other SW fans i decided that i needed to start watching it, if for no other reason then to be able to talk about it with them. So i watched the season premiere last night. The episodes were written well and the animation is fantastic. But here is my problem..not just with these episodes, but the series in general.....they keep contradicting established Expanded Universe(EU) history. Spoilers if you haven't seen it: The first episode(two were shown) had troopers trying to "graduate" training and try to become ARC troopers. Big mistake. the EU has already established that the ARC troopers were specifically bred to be ARCs...not taken from rank and file clones. The main clone army had the parts of their dna that made them too independent thinkers removed to make an army that would follow orders better/make a better army. The ARCs on the other hand had some of that dna spliced into their make up to allow for some specialized work. And there were only a certain number bred. You can't make rank and file troops into ARCs....they aren't made that way. I'll just have to look at the series as embellished stories told too far after to know the real story as opposed to what actually happened. I've had to look at the novel "Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor" the same way....too much wrong characterization in that book to be thought of as any other way. ok...rant over
